One BIG Rat and one BIG Lizard

I have been setting the live rat trap for the past two weeks in hopes of catching the rat digging a hole in the lawn outside my classroom. She was eating the bait without springing the trap.  Finally, over the weekend she got caught when there wasn't even any bait in the trap.  But since I wasn't at school and the trap was in the sun, she had already died from the heat by the time I arrived Monday morning.

This monitor lizard lives near my classroom.  I usually spot it out taking a stroll on Saturdays when area is quiet.  It likes to get water from the leaking water fountain.  It is rather shy so it has been hard to get a good picture.
